Latvia’s poultry and egg production group AS APF Holdings, which includes Alūksnes Putnu Ferma, has changed its legal name to AS Agrova Baltics and will henceforth operate as part of the Agrova group brand, which also includes the UK poultry business Sunrise Eggs, acquired in November.
The rebranding marks the completion of the first phase of the Agrova International group strategy, aimed at expanding across European markets and establishing a unified identity for an international egg and egg-protein production and trading platform. The Group’s strategic priorities include expanding Baltic production capacity to 450+ million eggs annually, balancing exports between the UK, Baltics and the EU, developing high value-added egg products, and strengthening digitalisation, operational efficiency and sustainability systems. The Agrova Group was established in October 2026 by Jurijs Adamovičs, the largest shareholder of APF Holdings.
The core idea behind the Agrova brand is rooted in Latvian agricultural excellence and responsible conduct at every stage of the value chain - from farm to finished product.
Jurijs Adamovičs, Founder of Agrova International, commented: “I was born and raised in rural Latvia, in a family that understood agriculture to its very core. That experience shaped my belief that food must be genuine and responsibly produced. Today, I am proud to say that Agrova has grown from a small local farm in Alūksne into a European-scale player in egg production and egg-protein solutions, with production capacities across the Baltics and the United Kingdom. Through Agrova UK Holdings Limited, we own and operate the Sunrise group of companies in the UK, forming a fully integrated, cross-border platform. We are building a sustainable, modern and competitive group capable of meeting Europe’s growing demand for eggs and egg protein in the decades to come. Our mission is to prove that the superpower of eggs is accessible to everyone”.
The legal name change from APF Holdings to Agrova Baltics, and its integration into the Agrova International group operating under the global Agrova brand, will apply to the Group’s legal and operational structures, investor and partner communications, product portfolio and international positioning. The change of name on the stock exchange and related processes will be implemented in accordance with Nasdaq Riga First North regulations.
Under the Agrova brand, the Group will unite several companies majority-owned by Agrova International:
- Agrova Baltics (formerly APF Holdings) — including Alūksnes Putnu Ferma, a fully integrated egg and liquid egg production facility in Alūksne (five poultry houses, grading line, liquid egg plant and solar park), as well as a planned pullet-rearing farm in Preiļi.
- Agrova UK Holding Limited — Sunrise Group, one of the most recognised egg producers in Midlands region of the United Kingdom, supplying national retail chains.
This integrated structure enables the Group to operate as a single, vertically integrated platform covering the entire value chain — from feed production and chick rearing to egg production, grading, liquid egg processing, exports and innovation. Built on a strong agricultural heritage and enriched by international experience, Agrova combines tradition with modern science and global ambition. The Group is built on production facilities in Latvia and the United Kingdom, each with more than six decades of continuous operational experience, forming one of Northern Europe’s most resilient, sustainable and future-oriented poultry and egg platforms.
Agrova offers a full product range - organic eggs, free-range eggs, barn eggs and cage eggs, as well as liquid egg products for food manufacturing and the HoReCa sector. A particular highlight is the Group’s innovative brand Fiteg², which develops science-based egg protein, collagen and functional nutrition products. In 2025, the Group’s total scale reached more than 1.3 million laying hens, 350+ million eggs sold annually, and over €60 million in combined revenue.
J. Adamovičs added: “Agrova is becoming one of Northern Europe’s most efficient and scalable egg platforms. Europe is undergoing rapid change- retail continues to shift towards cage-free eggs, demand for barn and free-range eggs is growing, and stable regional supply chains are becoming increasingly critical. At the same time, 21 of 36 European countries remain net egg importers. In this market environment, Agrova’s model - a two-country production base, modern infrastructure and vertical integration in Latvia - ensures price stability, volume predictability and reliable supply for retailers across Europe”.
